Laaw-ŋǝ lɔr-li leeŋen.
1 Nǝrṯoroŋw tok ŋaaŋa lir laaw, ǝṯi iinyici lilǝlɔŋwsi naana, mindaŋ mɔŋw naani kweere deŋgen-na kwiti kwǝmminicǝ ŋiɽaŋali ŋǝthi Allah mac tǝ, a ŋethre ŋaalɔ ŋisaaw ǝginǝ ŋunduŋwsi ethi ǝmmini. Nǝreere oro ḏɔrɔɔri mac ethisi mɔltha kandisa-gi, 2 kaka ninḏir-gwɔ etheese ṯiiɽǝnǝ ṯaalɔ ŋethre-ŋi ŋisaaw. 3 Ŋiti ŋɔvthanna mac ethi ŋisanna ŋaalɔ oro ŋǝthi parŋgala-ŋw, ŋiɽaŋal-ŋi ŋǝthi ɔmmi yǝwɽu-nǝ yaalɔ ŋaamal-ŋi, nǝ ethi kenne tiigiri naana kwir ḏahab-ŋǝ yireth-yi yir ghaali. 4 Nǝ ki-lɔɔbi lǝthi ŋiɽaŋal ŋɔ tǝ, a ŋisanna ŋaalɔ oro ŋǝthi rɔgwor raalɔ rerrem ininyǝnǝ, ŋir ŋisanna ŋǝthi ŋiiɽǝnnǝ ŋǝthi ṯigɽim ŋiti ŋǝṯi kiirathalɔ mac, nǝroro ŋǝthi faayitha kiyǝnǝ yǝthi Allah. 5 Kerreny tuk nǝ laaw naani lirllinǝlɔ ter lallathɔ Allah rɔgwori naana ṯǝkkizǝ-thi kizǝn, nǝ ŋisanna ŋeeŋen oro ṯiinyicǝ naana ṯǝthi lilen-ŋa. 6 Nǝṯǝ Saara oroŋw tok; niinyicǝ-ŋgwɔ Ibraahiim-ŋwɔ naana mindaŋ ǝṯɔŋw ɔrnɔṯi yiriny-yi yǝni Sǝyyiḏ. Nǝ kire-kirem ŋgwɔ-tǝ, noro nyɔr nyuuŋwun, mǝsi ǝrri ŋisaaw, liti lithiinya kwokwony kwomne kweere mac.
7 Nǝr-ṯoroŋw tok, ŋaaŋa lir lɔr laagithɔ, laazim aami naanɔŋw ŋethre ŋisaaw laaw-li laalɔ, ethisi elŋe ethaarɔŋw yaŋna yeeŋen yǝni yajla. Ǝṯisi iiɽinǝ, kaka ninḏir-gwɔ tok ethaavi ŋimiitha ŋaaŋa-li ŋir haḏiiyyǝ wǝthi Allah. Ǝṯisi ǝrri ŋɔ minḏaŋ mǝŋǝsi kwomne ere kweere mac kwɔŋǝsi rillici ṯaara kiyiiriny.
Ethi inḏa ṯurvǝ sǝbǝb-gi kwǝthi ŋirllalɔ.
8 Nǝroro ŋɔ ŋirimthithɔ, laazim orona lɔtɔpɔt lǝthi rɔgwori rɔtɔpɔt; ethi amɽathisi-na ŋiyaŋga, lǝthi ŋimɽiyǝ-nǝ ṯǝjlinnǝ-thi ki-rogɽo daŋgal-na. 9 Ǝṯeere ǝɽǝthisi ŋwɔɽa mac, mǝrŋǝ ollo tǝ, ǝṯiseere ollo ŋa tok mac; laakin ǝṯisi ǝŋnici ṯɔrtatha-thi, kaka nɔrɔ-gwɔ ṯɔrtanna ṯǝccǝ-ŋǝsi-thi Allah wa@ḏa ethinḏǝthǝ ŋaaŋwɔsi kinaŋw nɔrnɔṯɔŋw ŋaaŋwɔsi. 10 Kaka naarɔ-gwɔ kiṯaab Kirllinǝlɔ ter ŋwɔ:
“Mǝ kweere nyithak naŋni ethaamina ki-ŋimiitha-na,
nǝ mɔŋw amɽi etheese ŋwɔɔmɔri ŋwisaaw tǝ,
laazim ŋwɔseere andindasi-lɔ ŋigii-ŋigii mac,
nǝ ŋweere kǝkikki ŋǝluŋi tok mac.
11 Laazim ŋwɔsi ɔrlacca kithaay ŋwɔdoŋw ŋa ŋigii ethisi ǝrri
ŋa ŋisaaw;
laazim ŋwɔ naŋninni ŋiiɽǝnnǝ-lɔ ṯɔgwor-thalɔ min-min.
12 Kaka nǝṯisi-gwɔ Kweeleny kagirni kila lirllalɔ,
nǝ ǝṯɔŋw niŋnaci ṯaara kiyiiriny ṯeeŋen tok;
laakin ǝṯir-li oro ṯuwǝn kila lǝṯisi ǝrri ŋigii.”
13 Nǝ ǝyǝ kwɔrɔ kweere kwɔŋǝsi rǝri naana mǝ ǝmmini ethisi ǝrri ŋɔvthanna? 14 Laakin mǝ kinnǝni inḏa ṯurvǝ ṯǝthi ŋa ŋǝrrǝ-ŋǝsi ŋirllalɔ, e-ta ǝni lɔrtanni. Ǝṯisi ṯiinya mac, wala ethi pinni rɔgwor-na. 15 Laakin ǝṯi iiɽi Kwɔrɔstɔ-ŋw-na ki-rɔgwor-na raalɔ lac-lac. Nǝ ǝṯi iiɽi ŋunduŋw-nǝ kaka Kweeleny. Ǝṯi naanalɔ cɔgwo-cɔgwop ŋwɔɔmɔri tatap ethi ǝŋnici kweere nyithak kwɔŋǝsi uṯicǝlɔ ethisi ilŋithini ŋunduŋw ŋǝthi ṯǝkkizǝ kizǝn ṯǝthiŋǝ, laakin ǝsi kǝniny ǝrri ŋɔ ṯǝjlinnǝ-thi nǝ ṯiiɽǝ-thii-nǝ tok; 16 aŋricar rɔgwori raalɔ ethi sɔɔɽɔna cɔr-cɔɽic, mindaŋ mǝr-ŋǝsi ollo kǝzir weere, nǝ kila lǝṯisi andindasi ŋigii-ŋigii ŋethre naana ŋaalɔ, kaka nɔrŋa-gwɔ lǝthi Kwɔrɔstɔ, ǝsi ṯɔrony mithǝ ṯǝthi ŋiɽaŋal ŋa ŋandisarsi. 17 Kaka nɔvthannar-gwɔ ethi rǝrinni ŋiɽaŋal-ŋi ŋǝrrǝ-ŋǝsi ŋisaaw, mǝroro ŋǝthi ṯɔgwor ṯǝthi Allah, ki-lɔɔbi lǝthisi-li ǝrri ŋigii. 18 Kaka nayɔ-gwɔ Kwɔrɔstɔ taamin tɔtɔpɔt dak, ŋiɽaŋal-ŋi ŋǝthi ŋikiya, ŋgwa kwirllalɔ ki-lɔɔbi lǝthi kila ligii, mindaŋ ethiili ŋaaŋwɔsi naanɔ-gwɔ Allah, nǝr ɽeenye aŋna wuuŋwun, laakin nɔŋw miitha ṯigɽim-thi, 19 nǝ ṯigɽim-thi ṯǝ kitha ṯinaanɔ ŋgwɔ-na nɔŋweele nɔŋwɔccǝ rigɽimǝ bǝshirǝ Inyjiilǝ kira rinaanɔ ki-sijin-nǝ. 20 Rindǝr-ṯǝ rir rigɽim kira rǝthi kila liti liinyicǝ Allah naana mac, kinaŋw nǝkkicǝ-ŋwsi kizǝn ṯimthǝ-thi ṯɔgwori, ki-ŋwaamin-la ŋwa ŋwɔdaɽimathi-ŋi Nɔɔh mɔrkǝbǝ kwuuŋwun. Nǝ kila-ṯǝ kila lokwɔɽɔc linaanɔ ki-mɔrkǝb-nǝ lir dɔvokwɔppa dak, nǝroro limǝ kilaaw ŋaaw-ŋi, 21 ŋir @alaama waaɽinna ma@muuḏiiyya, kwǝni kwɔmǝ-ŋǝsi kilǝthi kirem. Nǝreere ǝniŋw ethi iyi ŋerletha ŋǝthi yaŋna mac, laakin nǝ wa@ḏ oro wǝthuɽuci Allah ṯɔgwor-thi ṯisaaw. Ŋwɔ kilǝthi ŋaaŋwɔsi ṯidiiɽǝ-thi ṯǝthi Yǝcu Kwɔrɔstɔ. 22 Kwindǝr-ṯǝ kwɔmeele ki-leere-na, nɔŋw naani ki-thii ṯǝthi mɔni ṯǝthi Allah, nɔŋw mithǝ limeleka tatap nǝ lisɔlṯa tatap lǝthi leere, nǝ ŋɔma tatap, nǝr naani ki-rii-na ruuŋwun.
Wives and Husbands
1 In the same way you wives must submit yourselves to your husbands, so that if any of them do not believe God's word, your conduct will win them over to believe. It will not be necessary for you to say a word, 2 because they will see how pure and reverent your conduct is. 3 You should not use outward aids to make yourselves beautiful, such as the way you fix your hair, or the jewelry you put on, or the dresses you wear. 4 Instead, your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God's sight. 5 For the devout women of the past who placed their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful by submitting themselves to their husbands. 6 Sarah was like that; she obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are now her daughters if you do good and are not afraid of anything.
7 In the same way you husbands must live with your wives with the proper understanding that they are more delicate than you. Treat them with respect, because they also will receive, together with you, God's gift of life. Do this so that nothing will interfere with your prayers.
Suffering for Doing Right
8 To conclude: you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another, and be kind and humble with one another. 9 Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you. 10 As the scripture says,
“If you want to enjoy life
and wish to see good times,
you must keep from speaking evil
and stop telling lies.
11 You must turn away from evil and do good;
you must strive for peace with all your heart.
12 For the Lord watches over the righteous
and listens to their prayers;
but he opposes those who do evil.”
13 Who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for doing what is right, how happy you are! Do not be afraid of anyone, and do not worry. 15 But have reverence for Christ in your hearts, and honor him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you, 16 but do it with gentleness and respect. Keep your conscience clear, so that when you are insulted, those who speak evil of your good conduct as followers of Christ will become ashamed of what they say. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if this should be God's will, than for doing evil. 18 For Christ died for sins once and for all, a good man on behalf of sinners, in order to lead you to God. He was put to death physically, but made alive spiritually, 19 and in his spiritual existence he went and preached to the imprisoned spirits. 20 These were the spirits of those who had not obeyed God when he waited patiently during the days that Noah was building his boat. The few people in the boat—eight in all—were saved by the water, 21 which was a symbol pointing to baptism, which now saves you. It is not the washing off of bodily dirt, but the promise made to God from a good conscience. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone to heaven and is at the right side of God, ruling over all angels and heavenly authorities and powers.
