James: A Sceptic Turned Believer
Then the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and although he had nothing in his hand, he tore the lion in pieces as one tears a young goatIn the Gospel, James and his brothers initially doubted Jesus (John 7:5). However, after Jesus’ resurrection, James became a believer (1 Corinthians 15:7).
Peter: Called as a disciple
While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
Peter’s faith and doubt
“Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.
